Nobody knows the trouble I've seen...
EMPTYEmpty,
unattached and uninvolved.
Sanity is slipping when the soul is empty.
Is my emptiness showing?
Can all tell I'm alone?
Wishes and dreams
Are figments of the imagination
Which lie heavy on the empty ones.
Courage flattened
By obstacles larger than life.
Push on, push on,
No choice but push on.
DARKNESS
Darkness rises from the depths.
Worthless is everything
When hopes and dreams fade out of touch.
Give me a stairway to leave these
Images of night behind;
Yield to me a torch to drive back
This frozen blackness engulfing me.
Grey now colors all thought and motion.
Please...
I must find the sunniness forgotten in this waste.
I'm too weak from these hellish shadows
To dig out of this funnelled pit of emptiness.
Grasp my clutching hand reaching out of my loneliness...
Pull me out of nightmares
Of chill silence and death.
Your humanity and strength
Seeps energy into these stiff limbs
And leads lost wandering thoughts to new life purpose;
Follow your actions, help those lost to life
Find their way back to their hopes and dreams
To continue their growth and fruition.
(Poems by Colleen Walsh)
...nobody knows but Jesus...
I still struggle with depression. He knows.
