1977. Blizzard after-effects. This picture was published in a local paper back in 1977. If you look closely, there is a car parked behind the snowbank on the left side. This is a local back road - tunnel driving. We had massive snowstorms the winters of '76 - '78. I remember in 1978 we only had school three days a week for 6 weeks. A blizzard each weekend took 2 days to plow out sufficiently to open the school (I was in 8th grade at the time.). One of those years, when I walked on the snowbanks beside a main road to go to my friend's house, I would step over a street sign since it was only about 6 inches above the snowbank - just readable. Unreal!!! I'm glad we don't get snow like that very often. Although once on a great while it might be kinda neat to play in...no, never mind that. I don't want to have to shovel out the drive!

After last weekend, neither would I! I enjoyed those snowy years at the time - I shared the shoveling with my brothers & sisters so the load wasn't as heavy. I could have fun in the snow.

Brrr!! Looks cold. I don't think I would like that much snow, but I hope we get a lot this year! You guys know why! :)
